Asian
Asian Pork Burgers - 2 pounds freshly ground pork
Mix together the following: - 2 Tablespoons fish sauce (can be purchased also in most asian sections of supermarket)
- 1 teaspoon sriracha or other Asian hot chili sauce (can be purchased @ Walmart) (or more to taste!)
- 2 Tablespoon of Dijon Mustard
- 3 Tablespoons of chunky peanut butter
- 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 Tablespoons of chopped Cilantro
- 1/2 teaspoon ground star anise
- 1 Egg
Mix the Pork together with marinade - season with salt and pepper - be careful with the salt as the fish sauce is already very salty - With pork patties I take a little piece of the meat and cook in a pan to taste and decide if more salt and/or pepper is needed These make great Barbecue Burgers or you can saute them in a pan in the kitchen I like to use some fresh bibb lettuce with a good piece of bread - a baquette would be great Instead of using Ketchup try making a herb mayonaise with chopped cilantro, Italien parsley, and some Thai basil - mix with 1/2 cup of mayo add some fresh lime juice with some chopped green onions Fresh Herb Mayonaise - 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh Thai basil leaves
- 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves
- 2 Tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
- 2 Tablespoons Italien Parsley
- 1 Tablespoons fresh lime juice
